Antsirabe, a big provincial town south of Antananarivo, is considered to be the flagship of Ravalomanana's industrial empire. The TIKO and Magro companies directly or indirectly provided a living for most people in Antsirabe. The powerful food group has made Ravalomanana's fortune. The former President was frequently accused of promoting his company's interests when he was in power. All of the Magro warehouses were looted during the crisis, both in Antananarivo and elsewhere, and the HAT has since nationalized Ravalomanana's industrial empire.
