Ravalomanana was the vice-president of the Malagasy Protestant Reform Church, the most powerful denomination in Madagascar. Since the High Authority of Transition was set up on 17 March 2009, Ravalomanana's supporters have met almost every day in front of the Magro warehouses, a symbol of the former President's industrial empire. They demand his return as head of the Malagasy state.
