Reception Center for French Citizens from Indochina (CAFI), Sainte-Livrade-sur-Lot - Vincent Nguyen
Located on military land, the Reception Center for French Citizens from Indochina (CAFI) welcomed 1,200 French citizens repatriated from Indochina in 1956, mainly mixed-race women and children who lived there in extremely precarious living conditions and under the authority of a particularly strict military camp management that kept them virtually self-sufficient from the rest of the population. In 2014, the old buildings were demolished and replaced by new social housing allocated to beneficiaries unrelated to the original Indochinese population. Descendants of this population, however, continue to live there and perpetuate the memory and Vietnamese traditions of their ancestors.
